Brighthouse developed the SmartBox Feeding System together with Fennoaqua as a second-generation solution for modern fish-farming equipment. The enhanced system provides fish farmers with advanced feeding automation and comprehensive offshore monitoring capabilities. The complete solution is known as Growth Sonar, owned and commercialized by the Finnish company Fennoaqua Ltd. Nearly one hundred SmartBox Feeding Systems are already in operation across the Finnish Archipelago, managing and monitoring fish farms using feeding data supplied by the Growth Sonar platform. In addition to automated feeding, the system’s cameras deliver continuous visual insights into the condition of the fish stock, while multiple sensors—such as temperature and oxygen sensors—offer valuable information about underwater environmental conditions.
