What’s it like to work in our team?

Our team

We are a team of diverse individuals with multiple talents, skills and personal qualities.  We have a healthy mix of experience and youthful enthusiasm. We tackle challenges together and we support each other. We are not a team just because we work together. We are a team because we grow and have fun together.

Every opinion counts

One of the special things about working in our team is that we’re a non-hierarchical organization. Everyone on a team is encouraged to voice their opinions, ask questions, and suggest solutions. Every opinion is listened to and every idea is welcomed.

Dedication and hard work

We take ownership of the work that we do. We believe excellence in our work will come by going above and beyond on our customer’s behalf. We work hard to delight our customers and aim to the best possible results in everything we do.

People first

People first is our promise. It’s our top priority to take care of our employees’ wellbeing. We offer a great set of benefits and we support learning and growing. We do everything we can to provide a fun and great place to work for our employees.

Meet our team

Katja Huuskonen

My Brighthouse story begins two years back when Microsoft decided to ramp down Salo site. A group of my closest colleagues were already working for Brighthouse so it was easy decision to jump right in. A leap from mobile phone business to marine industry was and still is exciting and new. I wanted to learn more and started part time study programme Master of Engineering, Autonomous Maritime Operations.

I am working as a part of a group developing SW and cyber security solutions. Also Linux administration and backup solutions are part of my job. I have enjoyed the atmosphere here in Brighthouse, it is refreshing, relaxed, flexible and supportive. Colleagues are open, easy to approach and have good sense of humour. I'd describe Brighthouse as innovative and agile place to work.

During free time I jog or do lean-to trips with my German short-haired pointer. I also read, do gardening and have dancing lessons; mainly show dance, lyrical and Horton.

Matias Tamminen

My Name is Matias Tamminen and I study embedded system design at the Turku University of Applied Sciences.
Thinking back, Brighthouse has been a great place to grow. I started as an intern doing entry-level programming with C++ and now, after almost two years, I am writing my thesis for the company.

As a new employee I appreciate that I am surrounded with colleagues who have decades of experience in various IT fields. Help and support are always there when needed, even though a lot of responsibility is given from early on.
My job description mostly consists of object-oriented programming and designing high-performance embedded systems. I get to work on projects that involve product development, software design and writing my own code. During the past year I’ve been working with a product development team of six students, prototyping new devices and software.
Fast paced prototyping, new technologies and creative solutions are day to day here. Each week brings new challenges and solutions, so there’s no way you will ever get bored.
